Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of three years experience working in conservation in Oregon, and/or grassroots organizing.

This position requires a working knowledge of conservation issues in Oregon and a valid driver’s license. Candidates with experience working in Tillamook, Clatsop, and Washington counties are preferred. Requires some physical stamina and dexterity to lead hikes in rugged terrain…

The Grassroots Organizer will mobilize support in northwest Oregon to press key decision makers for stronger conservation protections for state forests on Oregon’s North Coast. The organizer will direct advocacy in the agency processes, analyze scientific reports of current and proposed uses of state forests, conduct media outreach, develop campaign materials, and galvanize the Oregon public with a focus on Tillamook, Clatsop, Washington and select other counties.

Clean Water Services is a public water resource management utility committed to protecting water resources in Oregon’s Tualatin River Watershed. Within the Treatment Plan Services, this position evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of all treatment processes and develops and recommends policies, procedures, and methods to optimize overall plant performance. Stays abreast of and contributes to state-of-art engineering technology and industry practices; conducts process studies and evaluates new products, processes, and techniques used in wastewater treatment processes and energy/nutrient recovery; develops feasibility proposals.

To qualify, the successful candidate will have increasingly responsible experience in industrial operations analysis, process control of wastewater treatment facilities; or operating, designing or consulting with wastewater treatment facilities. Customarily candidates will possess an advanced degree in wastewater treatment engineering / technology, chemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental science, process engineering, or related field. Experience working in a variety of wastewater treatment facilities is highly desired.

In Partnership with the Confluence Environmental Center (CEC),Community Energy Project is seeking motivated community members who are passionate about environmental conservation.

The Sustainability Specialist will work with Community Energy Project (CEP) volunteers to weatherize homes for low-income seniors and people with disabilities, and to conduct blower- door tests to determine how effective weatherization materials are. This will help us to determine the impact of small scale weatherization has on a client’s carbon footprint.

The CEC member will also help to design and implement systems for additional on-site recycling, and create an outdoor bike-cage to promote bike-commuting among staff and volunteers.

This position is perfect for outgoing, collaborative people who have a secret love of data.
