The Nature Conservancy is seeking to hire an Aquaculture Strategy Specialist to support the development and implementation of The Nature Conservancy’s “Aquaculture by Design” strategy: a bold new program with projects in seven countries focused on directing aquaculture towards enduring solutions for nature and people. S/he will work with the Global Lead and influence complex, on-the-ground projects by providing strategic, scientific, and technical direction and support, develops key partnerships with public and private organizations, and support the development of innovative science and frameworks to improve sustainable aquaculture management.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in science-related field and 2 years of experience in aquaculture or marine conservation practices, team and project management experience, as well as demonstrated experience influencing, developing, and implementing marine resource conservation and management policy. The position is funded for one year with the expectation that it will be extended contingent upon funding and performance .The position will be based in Arlington, VA.
