Temporary Fish Facilities Technician (T17-078)

This is a temporary assignment that may last up to 12 months depending on business needs and performance.

In this position, you will lead field staff to implement smolt trapping evaluation. Provide assistance with all aspects of operating upstream/downstream fish passage facilities, including monitoring and studies of fish passage facilities, fish passage evaluations and aquatic programs on the Clackamas and Willamette Falls Hydroelectric Project to ensure comprehensive and cost-effective implementation of fish mitigation and enhancement programs required under the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission operating license for the Project.

Bring the following skills to our team:

  • Basic knowledge of fundamental biological principles and concepts.
  • Basic understanding of salmonid biology and habitat requirements; wildlife biology and habitat requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of fisheries/aquatic/terrestrial sciences’ sampling methodologies and techniques.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications, and the ability to learn other software programs as needed.

 

Successful candidates will typically have an Associate of Arts degree or minimum of two years of college classes in fisheries/aquatic/terrestrial sciences or a related science. A valid driver’s license and demonstrated good driving habits is required.
