RDI is a non-profit organization that assists rural community leaders to build local capacity in order to revitalize their economies, enhance livability, and strengthen the sense of community.
We are seeking to hire a Regional Community Development Coordinator. Duties of this position include delivery of high quality, practical training and technical assistance to rural communities throughout RDI’s service area. This includes monitoring community needs and issues in Western Oregon and developing new project opportunities on an ongoing basis
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in community building skills including strategic planning and visioning, project development and experience helping communities move forward with action. Experience with volunteer leadership in rural communities, as well as strong skills in facilitation, organizing, collaboration and project management are essential. We are seeking candidates with organizational development experience working with boards and staff of non-profits, doing organizational planning, mission, vision, board development, budgets, assessments, financial planning and fundraising. Qualified applicants should have experience with community economic development, including, economic development assessment, “think local” type initiatives, food systems, retention and expansion, starting up businesses, etc. Experience in designing and delivering on-line training and in-depth knowledge of key rural sectors is highly desirable. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
This is a full-time position and applicant must be willing and able to live in or near Western Oregon. The hiring range for this position is $35,000-$45,000 plus excellent benefits. For complete job descriptions and more information about RDI, please visit our website at www.rdiinc.org
