DESCRIPTION
Provides leadership, analysis and program recommendations to ensure compliance with the UCOP Policy on Sustainable Practices and establishes UC San Diego Health as a leader in sustainability. Serves as a principal resource to Health System leadership on sustainability programs. Develops, manages, and implements current and future Health System Sustainability programs. Educates and affects behavior in order to develop a culture of sustainability.
Develops, coordinates, supports and expands opportunities for faculty, staff and students to learn about sustainability and incorporates sustainable practices into their day-to-day work. Chair the Medical Center Sustainability Committee, be responsible for maintaining, updating and collecting data for Practice Green Health and UCOP Sustainability committees and share our Sustainability journey to various audiences in the medical center and within the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience/training in environmental science, management, or policy; architecture; engineering; or public health.
- A minimum of five (5+) or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience and proven success in the area of environmental sustainability management policies, issues and initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree or PhD.
- Sustainability program management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Sustainability program management experience in a large complex organization.
- LEED Accredited Professional.
- ISSP Certified Sustainability Professional.
