The Northwest Ecobuilding Guild has several internship opportunities.  Read below to see more information.

  •   Green Building Educator – Help create and deliver green building education programs such as Monthly Seminars, Classes and Workshops, Guided Van Tours, and Community-Wide Education Events.  Volunteer and Internship opportunities range from a short-term project (1-2 months) to 1-3 quarters or more.  Help organize events, research and writing, booking speakers, arranging group transportation, advertising, social marketing, graphic design, working with other volunteers, and more.
  • South Sound Green Tour Intern:  The 3rd Annual South Sound Green Tour is April 21 &22, 2012.  We will eventually look to fill all positions listed during Winter Quarter (2011-2012), but for now we are looking for one Fall intern to assist in basic community organizing and/or sponsorship/fundraising efforts
  • Thurston Green Codes Project:  Help write and document case studies of successfully permitted green building innovations as part of a database to share information between code officials and builders to help streamline the permitting process, and reduce time and costs for green projects. Intern will interact with Green builders and City/County Building Departments. Project is a collaboration of NWEBG, Thurston Climate Action Team and Thurston County Planning Department.  Databased to go live at Thurston County Website on January 1, 2012.
  •  “The Commons” Site Docents:  Volunteer on light gardening work while greeting visitors to this busy downtown site, a demonstration of Urban Sustainability at a neighborhood scale.  Docents answer questions and describe current projects and background. Requires completion of Docent Training – 4 hour class given once per month.  Site is a collaboration of Fertile Ground Community Center and Guild EcoHouse Office and green remodeling project.  Help organize Fall Reading Group on “The Commons”
  • Seeing Green e-Newsletter Assistant Editor:  Help research, write, and publish the Guild’s bi-monthly e-newsletter (uses Vertical Response).  Also help program the South Sound Chapter webpages including South Sound Green Tour / Solar Tour pages
