OverviewThe Student Sustainability & Engagement Coordinator is dedicated to organizing student volunteer opportunities, managing and growing the student sustainability grant program, coordinating campus outreach, supporting student-led initiatives and events, and mentoring student leaders.
Responsibilities
Student Sustainability Office
- Chairs Student Sustainability Grant Committee, and serves as the lead in assessing results and determining award recipients
- Manages Student Sustainability grant paperwork, such as Letters of Agreement and Final Reports
- Coordinates USU Sustainability Council Engagement Committee and represents the SSO at monthly meetings
- Advises and evaluates AmeriCorps student sustainability interns
- Oversees maintenance of Student Sustainability website, AggieSync portals, and social media
- Develops, distributes, and reviews Qualtrics assessments at end of AmeriCorps service terms
- Oversees AmeriCorps members and student volunteers in event organization and implementation, including Student Sustainability Club events and Earth Day
Community-Engaged Learning
- Coordinates Community-Engaged Scholars program
- Advises Scholars
- Develops, distributes, and reviews Qualtrics assessments for graduating scholars
- Reviews scholar applications
- Assists with Civic Foundations leadership class
- Maintains website and AggieSync information
- Works with Service Center Coordinator to manage community partnerships
- Assists with support document development (handbooks, applications)
- Tracks project needs and class matches
- Distributes assessments to community partners and faculty
- Organizes bi-annual speed networking event
Center for Community Engagement
- Assists with the management of assessments for all CCE programs, and reports on shared learning objectives
- Works with CCE staff to organize end-of-year poster session and awards banquet for scholars, service leaders, and AmeriCorps members
- Serves as staff advisor on Alternative Break programs
- Assists department as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience in Environmental Science, Environmental Education or related field
- Experience training and supervising AmeriCorps members and student interns
- Experience advising/coordinating student-driven campus sustainability programs
- Experience advising/coordinating Alternative Breaks programs
- Experience managing student grant programs
- Experience with OrgSync, GivePulse, or similar platform
