Thurston Conservation District is pleased to announce a unique opportunity to contribute to conservation and our community by serving on the Board of Supervisors! Supervisors are public officials and are responsible for setting and maintaining overall district policies regarding the management and conservation of natural resources within the District. The successful candidate will become part of a volunteer five-person Board of Supervisors, who serve without compensation for three year terms.
Who: Qualified candidates are registered voters residing in the Conservation District, which covers most of Thurston County.
What: Become a candidate for our January 14, 2020 election. Share your personal and professional experience for the betterment of our community!
How: Filing deadline is December 17, 2019 at 4:30pm. Mandatory paperwork, nominating petitions, and candidate statement guidelines may be found on the Thurston CD website or picked up in person (2918 Ferguson St SW, Tumwater). Candidate paperwork and information may be turned in electronically or in person to the Election Supervisor, Nora White – nwhite@thurstoncd.com.
Absentee ballots will be available upon request after the candidate filing deadline and a poll-site election will be held Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 from 10am – 8pm at the Thurston Conservation District Offices. I will send out additional voter information in mid-December.
