org<http://www.GirlScoutsWW.org>) is currently seeking a fund development professional with a desire to direct a comprehensive annual giving program – special events, family giving and alumnae programs – for the premier girl leadership development program in the world.

Progressively responsible experience in fund development and experience managing and leading staff is required. The Development Director will help to ensure the organization’s fund development goals are consistently attained through successful implementation of a broad-based fund development strategy. This is a full-time, exempt position with excellent health and leave benefits.

Essential Functions:

Primary

Oversee, develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving program including special events, corporate sponsorships, family giving and alumnae programs to meet the strategic and long-range goals of the Council.

In collaboration with the Pierce County Women of Distinction Committee, act as staff lead to manage event logistics, committee management/communication, committee and table captain recruitment, invitations, program oversight and speaker/Women of Distinction selection, etc. to meet budget goals.

Provide direct supervision and leadership for a staff of 2 to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department and the annual giving program.

Oversee and assist Special Events Manager and Fund Development Manager in developing and implementing family giving and alumnae programs to grow our donor base and meet the long range, strategic goals of the council.

Assist Chief Development Officer and other staff members to identify, cultivate and manage donors and corporate sponsors in the south Puget Sound region.

Work with Product Sales team to identify and solicit corporate sponsors and community collaborators for incentives to support the Adventure Point Program for the top cookie sellers.

Secondary

In collaboration with fund development staff, develop and manage budgets for special events and other annual giving programs. Formulate and recommend fundraising goals for Board approval.

Use donor database to ensure that data maintained is accurate and readily accessible to assure proper donor stewardship and historical records.

Participate on behalf of Girl Scouts of Western Washington in community activities and organizations to recruit and interact with high profile community leaders to develop new donor prospects.

In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience required with at least three years progressively responsible experience in Fund Development including 2 years managing and leading staff

* Demonstrated record of successful fundraising preferably in the western Washington region, with an emphasis on Pierce and Thurston counties

* Demonstrated success working with volunteers and managing staff

* CFRE or similar certification desirable

* Excellent public speaking and writing skills

* Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds

* Effective communicator with the capacity to collaborate with others and be a team player

* Skilled in Outlook, Word, Excel and Access or other database program. Donor Perfect experience preferred

* Knowledge of and/or experience in sales, marketing, and project management skills

* Excellent public speaking, meeting management and writing skills

* Experience in development and administration of budgets and work plans

* Availability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends as necessary

* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment

* Valid Washington State drivers license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography

* Effective conflict resolution skills

* Satisfactory results from criminal background search

* Willingness to maintain Girl Scouts membership
