There are two (2) positions available through this recruitment effort. One position will focus on Maritime and Economic Development related capital projects and operational decisions. The second position will focus on the capital development projects and operational decisions within our Aviation Division at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. PURPOSE:
Develop, implement, and manage Port of Seattle’s new Green Building and Sustainable Design Program to serve the Port in achieving the Port’s Century Agenda goals, objectives and strategies. This position will lead green building and sustainable design efforts, integrate the Port’s sustainability goals into all aspects of project development, delivery, maintenance, and operation, and train and support port staff and tenants.
Maritime Position – This position will be part of the Port’s Maritime Environment and Sustainability Department, a passionate team of 25 scientists, planners, and specialists that manage all the environmental programs for the Maritime and Economic Development Divisions. The Port is in middle of one of its largest capital delivery programs to redevelop or build new infrastructure along the Seattle waterfront. This position is critical in ensuring sustainability decisions are made as part of this program. This position will be located at P69 in Seattle.
Aviation Position – This position will be part of the Port’s Aviation Environment and Sustainability Department, a passionate team of environmental scientists and specialists that manage the environmental programs for Sea-Tac Airport. This position will lead a new innovative program to analyze and reduce environmental impacts from the Airport’s capital development projects through energy efficiency, advanced materials, and renewable energy. The Airport’s five-year capital development program includes a new north terminal, cargo facilities, and sustainable transportation strategies. This position will be located at Sea-Tac Airport.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability or a related field; and
- Five (5) years of experience managing environmental, engineering, or related sustainability programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental or Physical Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability or related field;
- Eight (8) years of experience managing or supporting environmental programs related to green building or sustainable design; and/or
- Certified LEED or Envision professional, Certified Energy Manager, ASHRE Certified in building design or modeling and/or other related equivalent credentials.
