Job Description

Two month contract literature review position

We seek a researcher with training in marine ecology, environmental
economics, and/or marine resource management to perform a review of
the literature pertaining to the characterization and use of
thresholds and indicators in marine spatial planning and ecosystem
based management. The qualified candidate will have excellent
research, organizational and communication skills and be comfortable
reading, critically reviewing and synthesizing large amounts of
information from disparate fields, including ecology, economics,
anthropology, sociology and management science. Experience with marine
resource management in general and in particular from the California
Current is desirable, but not required. The candidate must be able to
work well independently. Location could be in Santa Barbara, where the
project is based, or other location of the researcher’s choosing. Some
graduate-level training in a relevant field is required, but this
project could be appropriate for a current graduate student.

Start date: January 1, 2012

End date: February 29, 2012

Time commitment and compensation: 10-15 hours/week at $15/hour
