time, position for one year. (There is a possibility of extension.) Work will entail in an approximately equitable distribution, coordinating the Estuary Partnership’s action effectiveness monitoring program and providing GIS, and other assistance as needed to the Estuary Partnership’s habitat restoration program.The successful candidate will be an excellent team player and a strong communicator, comfortable with a diversity of projects, and with a broad background based in natural resources. Knowledge of lower Columbia River issues is a plus.

Under the direction of the Assistant Region Manager for Resource Protection and Services, the Fire Cost Analyst accomplishes fire cost recovery by reviewing, verifying, and compiling documentation to complete fire billing, and processing and documenting collections. This position is the lead for region cost tracking of incident records, and works closely with management, fire program, and accounting personnel to ensure agency fiscal accountability, including auditing financial paperwork from incidents. The position is expected to analyze and interpret fiscal information to draw conclusions and trends based upon data. Incumbant may also perform a variety of fiscal and administrative support functions in coordination with managers and professional staff.

Responsibilities include providing capacity building support and financial data; project coordination; planning and coordinating meetings; partnership communications; and other work as needed. This requires strong written and verbal communication skills, strong MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and able to assist with creation of PowerPoint presentations; and attention to detail. This person must work independently with little or no supervision, be well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting a small office with diverse and growing programs.
The Executive Assistant must learn the management style and value system of the co-founder that is based on traditional Native American cultural values. The ability to use positive interpersonal skills without conflict with a high level of professionalism with management, staff, board and community partners is crucial, remaining flexible, resourceful and positive under stress.
