RECREATION COORDINATOR

Closes: Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 4:00 pmThe Recreation Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing recreation programs including, but not limited to: aquatic programs, adult and youth programs, outdoor recreation programs, adaptive programs, and arts and cultural activities.
Evaluating programs and instructors, keeping attendance and activity records, conducting training and submitting quarterly reports to Recreation Superintendent and being familiar with legislation, policies, procedures and rules about sports, recreation, events and competitions.
SALARY:
$3,315- $3,943 monthly. This is a full time position…MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and two to three years of progressively responsible experience in recreation program development and administration. Must have direct experience in program planning and supervision…

The Recreation Forester (south) independently manages the south half of the region’s volunteer and public use (including education and enforcement) programs within Klickitat and Yakima counties. This position directly supervises two positions, one Volunteer Recreation Forester and one Education and Enforcement Forester; and, indirectly supervises one Maintenance Mechanic and two seasonal Maintenance Crew positions. The Recreation Forester (south) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and reporting the efforts of the region’s volunteer and public use programs and coordinating recreation grants, including drafting grant applications. For designated counties, this position will plan and track the recreation budget, volunteer components and commitments within recreation grants and provide grant writing technical support.
