This position will provide environmental expertise in the foundation, implementation, and ongoing management of the Commission’s program to reduce or eliminate the introduction of nonindigenous aquatic species through ballast water and other ship-mediated vectors, including vessel biofouling. This position will perform preliminary analysis, research, surveys, investigations and studies related to the MISP and assist with the preparation of legislative reports that synthesize scientific information and stakeholder input into policy recommendations. This position will review proposed research and monitoring projects, lease applications and subsequent EIS/EIR prepared by federal, State, or local agencies on complex sensitive projects for which the Commission is a Responsible or Trustee Agency.
