The Friends of Tryon Creek is seeking qualified environmental educators with a love of working with youth in the outdoors. Work in Oregon’s only urban state park. Located 15 minutes from downtown Portland, Tryon Creek State Natural Area offers 667 acres of beautiful, forested canyon and uplands.
Nature Day Camp provides children with the freedom to explore the natural world on rambling hikes through the woods, excursions along the creek, science experiments and nature-based arts and crafts in our classroom, and games, songs, stories and plays in our outdoor shelter.
Adventure Camp Lead Instructor will be responsible for planning and leading small groups of 10 campers/week in excursions such as hiking, visiting other state parks, river rafting and more as well as one overnight trip per week. Campers are in grades 5-7 and Lead Instructor will have the assistance of an intern to help lead program.
