The University of Washington chapters of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER-UW) and the American Society of Landscape Architects are hosting an evening event on “Integrating Ecological Restoration in Landscape Architecture” at 6pm on April 12 at the University of Washington (Forest Club room of Anderson Hall). Through roundtable discussions and an interactive panel, SER-UW is hoping to foster a productive exchange on the following issues:
- Where landscape architecture and ecological restoration overlap in research and practice;
- How these two disciplines are implemented in Seattle, and beyond; and,
- What opportunities are available for students.
The event will begin with a roundtable event for students, faculty, and professionals to network and mingle, followed by a panel featuring Jon Bakker (professor of Restoration Ecology) and Ken Yocom (professor of Urban Ecological Design) and several local practitioners. SER-UW is still confirming professional participants, so please contact Alex Thomas of SER-UW (asus4@uw.edu) if you would are interested in participating as a discussion leader. If you are simply interested in attending, a reminder will be disbursed closer to the event.
