Closes: Open Until Filled

The Columbia Gorge Earth Center (CGEC) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit based in Hood River, Oregon working to empower citizens of the Columbia River Gorge with sustainable local choices that respond to global environmental issues. To do this, we work at a community, grass-roots level organizing balanced community education events and incubating innovative programs that integrate ecology, economy and community. Our partners include other local and regional organizations, private companies, government and non-profits.

The CGEC Executive Director (ED) Position is a great opportunity for an independent self-starter who is interested in environmental issues and promoting sustainability in the Columbia River Gorge. The ED Position provides the opportunity to be a part of a 10 year old non-profit that has had great success in incubating other non-profits (Gorge Grown, Rebuild It Center) and running programs (Weatherize Oregon Now). This position is ideal for someone who is interested in building a job for themselves within a dynamic non-profit that has an active board and broad reaching goals.

The ED Position is primarily grant-funded and requires ongoing grant-seeking and alternative funding development to maintain the position. The ED works directly with the CGEC Board of Directors. The ED Position is great for someone who is creative, has prior experience with small non-profits and grant writing, and is self-motivated. The position offers a great opportunity to do good work and get connected with sustainably minded folks and organizations throughout the Gorge.

Hours: 10-15 hours per week (opportunity for full time – grant dependent)
