Backcountry invasive crew leader position to lead invasive plant surveys throughout seven wilderness areas in the GPNF and OWNF’s.The incumbent will be expected to coordinate project logistics, ensure quality of data collected, and safely lead a 3 person crew while hiking and backpacking in a wilderness setting.
Desired skills and experience
Project management experienceincluding: crew training and supervision, project planning and logistics, and ensuring safe working practices and conditions are met at all times.
Expert backpacking and wilderness skills including: navigation, Leave No Trace, cooking, wilderness camping, self-care etc.
Field data collection experience including: GPS and field data form use
General knowledge of common plants of the Pacific Northwest, and familiarity with the use of a dichotomous key in plant identification
