Transition Olympia is seeking interested individuals to apply for scholarships to attend one of several national trainings coming up soon.

Transition Olympia is a local chapter of the worldwide Transition initiative. The initiative seeks to educate communities about the threats of global climate change, peak oil (and other resources) and economic disequity. Locally we strive to transition the local community from a petroleum dependent lifestyle to a more sustainable, resilient and joyful way of living. We believe engaging as much of the community as possible will hasten those efforts and the benefits we envision. We invite you to become engaged.

Get involved in the local initiative by volunteering your time and expertise. Look for follow-up list of specific volunteer opportunities coming soon.*

Get involved by attending a national Transition training and taking on a more engaged role in the local efforts.

The scholarships could pay for full tuition for a couple of people or could pay for partial tuition for a few more. In exchange for the scholarships, trainees would be asked to commit to 2 years of working with Transition Olympia to increase our presence and effectiveness in the community. Scholarship recipients are expected to pay for the cost of housing and travel to the training location.

If you think you might be interested in attending the training, please contact Joanne Lee for an application packet.
