UWKC is seeking energetic and talented individuals to join a highly focused and successful fundraising team for the 2012 Annual Campaign.
Selected individuals will have an opportunity to help UWKC achieve a vital goal that greatly benefits our entire community through assisting companies and organizations with developing and implementing strategies to maximize workplace-giving campaigns.
Each year United Way of King County hires Loaned Executives throughout King County to help raise money for health and human services. The term Loaned Executive refers to a person who is either loaned by an organization or hired by United Way to work as a fundraiser and community spokesperson for United Way’s annual campaign.
As a Loaned Executive, you will provide leadership, fundraising and teamwork skills to assist local companies in running successful workplace campaigns. You will be responsible for fundraising, event planning and public speaking for your assigned account portfolio. You will attend two weeks of training that will provide you with the general skills you will need to be a successful Loaned Executive.
The Loaned Executive position is an opportunity to grow professionally and personally. You will have the opportunity to develop and hone skills in: Sales, Customer Service, Project Management, Public Speaking, and Team Building. You will also gain valuable community knowledge and contacts, be a part of a positive team environment and potentially become a leader in your community.
Loaned Executives will: Attend mandatory orientation and training sessions, develop and implement workplace fundraising campaign strategies with United Way staff and volunteers, be a United Way spokesperson at campaign events, educate employees about the value of United Way and health and human services, ask for employee and corporate contributions, provide excellent customer service, participate as part of a loaned executive team of community professionals, manage all aspects of assigned portfolio, evaluate campaign and make recommendations for the following year.
Candidates must possess the following: Team player, flexible, effective verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, perform under stressful conditions, self-directed, enthusiastic, creative energy, basic math skills, Driver’s license and use of a car.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field. Experience within fundraising, sales or development is required. Equivalent fundraising experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
Duration of Position: This is a 15-week commitment from August 27 – December 7, 2012 Hours: Full Time/38.75 hours per week. Must be able to work a flexible schedule since companies often have campaign sessions outside of typical business hours. No vacations will be authorized during the 15 week period. You will have Labor Day (September 3), Thanksgiving Day and the day after (November 22 & 23) off.
• Excellent training and expense reimbursement is provided.
• Salary: $630/week
• Temporary employees are not eligible for UWKC benefits
