The Audubon Society of Portland is recruiting a Finance Manager. We are looking for someone with in-depth bookkeeping experience and strong non profit accounting experience to maintain our books of account (using QuickBooks) and to support the organization’

s $2.3 million dollar operation. The Finance Manager is within the Administration Department and will work closely with the Executive Director, Office Manager and Board Treasurer. He/she will also work with and support the Department Directors and Nature Store Manager.

Portland Audubon’s diverse revenue portfolio, including a nature store business, fee based services, and membership of 13,000, requires someone with experience and knowledge well beyond that needed for a typical small business or non-profit. The Finance Manager will need to understand accounting and audit policies and procedures and be able to stay on top of a multi-faceted organization’s operations. We are seeking someone who has the capacity to see the big picture, handle the small details and work under pressure at times while maintaining a positive attitude. This person will be expected to participate in Finance and Investment Committee meetings and attend some evening Board meetings.

Salary range is $35,360 to $47,840 depending upon experience.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university is required. Must have 3+ years experience in accounting, finance, and knowledge of GAAP and best practices in nonprofit finance. Experience and proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel and Word required.
