All of the MML and Non Linear editing suites have had some updates. Each station has new dual 22″ LCD monitors and 4 more gb’s of RAM for a total of 8gb’s. We have also updated to Digital Performer 7, Adobe Design Premium CS5, After Effects CS5, MS Office 2008 and Mac OS X 10.6. Also the conversion station (Jeunet) in the back has been replaced mic a new Mac Mini.
The HVAC system in the Multimedia Lab is under construction. The MML will be open by Tuesday of week 2. The Non-Linear editing suites will be open week 1.
Voltaic HD has been installed on Jenuet. It can convert video files with the AVCHD codec. Some of the newer video cameras that record to DVD or memory cards use this codec. If Final Cut or iMovie 09 do not work with acamera try Voltaic.
Tina and Fritz have swapped locations. Tina is better designed for ADA access, but it was difficult to see the projection screen in her former location. Now Fritz is the computer that faces the MML window and Tina is centrally located for easier access.
We have upgraded to Final Cut Studio 3, iLife 09, iWork 09, After Effects CS4, Adobe Design Premium CS4 and we have added Logic Studio. We also have one firewire Blu-Ray burner for use inside the lab.
