Inspiration for Piece Three

This is a table top I stumbled across. I was drawn

to the colors but even more so to the shapes of the stones.

This is a piece of trash in a yard. It is a wrapper

of some sort, and once again I was drawn to the

shape it had somehow wound up in. Although the

photograph is a bit blurry, I appreciate the ambiguity

it gives to this bit of litter.

Progress

It took me a lengthy amount of time to figure out the best way to utilize WordPress as a constructive, relevant, and expressive tool for my project this quarter and the conceptualization happening for the work I am doing. I have felt an enormous amount of self-inflicted pressure for everything that goes on this site to be fully coherent and expressive of the conceptualization for this project and my pieces, as at times it has been rather murky and I do not want to confuse anyone or myself further. I have spent the past seven weeks laying out images, ideas, photographs, sketches, and many things in between on what I imagine to be the “workbench” or “dining room table” of this project and program. I have now reached a point where the ideas and influences are merging as I begin to “make myself a plate”, weaving my journal notes and work into writing. I am beginning to define and fully develop my thoughts, coming to a ripe understanding of what I mean by “space between”, creating a vocabulary to articulate what I am  learning, feeling, making, and seeing.
