This party of mycophiles has been inspired by the wondrous world of fungus, most notably in this case, mycelium. Some may call it luck but if you ask me it is most likely fate that brought this group together. The great creative minds of Daniel Gilberts, Daniel Steelquist and Cody Allison make up a group some call “The decomposers” or even just a bunch of “Fungi’s”. Each of these group members have different backgrounds, different strengths  and weaknesses and come from different areas of the United States which makes a rock solid group.

Daniel Gilberts is a very intelligent young man from Louisville, Kentucky. His experience and work with the fungal world inspires others around him to be great. He has worked under world renowned mycologist Paul Stamets and has led fungi filtration projects to clean up run-off water from farms going into the Puget Sound.

Daniel Steelquist’s child like wonder in the realm of mycology makes him a perfect candidate for anything fungal related. Daniel is originally from Sequim, Washington and is always striving to know more about mycology not just on the molecular level but also about their sustainable applications. He is very interested in fungi being used as building materials and crops.

Cody Allison is the newbie of the group to the study of mycology. Cody hails from the small coastal town of Manzanita, Oregon. His willingness to learn combined with his group mates willingness to teach has been an asset throughout the research project. He is a dedicated student in his first quarter at Evergreen State with hopes to become a doctor someday.
