Differences in Terroir of Tea
I have an unpopular experience with the tea tastings: all these teas tasted the same to me. I noticed my classmates discussing the different complex flavor notes in detail, saying which sample was their favorite and least favorite; and I didn’t understand it. Tea is tea.
This tea is certainly different from other teas I usually drink: green, herbal and other kinds of teas can taste very different from one another because of different herbs added to the blend and different processing of the leaves; but all of the teas we tasted in class might as well have been the same tea. I don’t think region has much to do with flavor, at least that I can detect.
