PORTLAND, Ore.  – Putting just 15 points on the scoreboard in the second half, the Evergreen Geoducks couldn’t stop the Concordia Cavaliers, falling 80-48 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s basketball game on Saturday night in Portland, Ore.

In the first half, the Cavaliers (20-8, 12-4 CCC) came out firing, pulling ahead by double-digits just over five minutes in. A 15-5 run got the Geoducks (5-18, 3-13 CCC) back within two with just over two minutes left but CU ended the half on a 6-0 run to take the 42-33 halftime lead.

Evergreen stayed with the Cavs for the first part of the second half but Concordia eventually pulled ahead, with the lead hitting 20 with just over six minutes left to play.  The Cavs continued to run and gun as the lead hit 30 with 1:47 left on the clock as Concordia earned the 80-48 win.

The Geoducks were led by 19 points from freshman Danielle Swain (Rainier, Wash./Black Hills HS).  Senior Latrina Woods (Skyway, Wash./La Sierra Univ.) added 11 rebounds as the Geoducks shot just 18.2% from the field in the second half.

Concordia was led by 14 points and 10 rebounds from Danielle Clauson.  All five CU starters finished with double-digit scoring as the Cavs shot 48.4% on the night.

The Geoducks return home on Friday night for their final two games of 2010-11 as they play host to College of Idaho on Friday and Eastern Oregon on Saturday.
