Ministry of Education of Spain

The Ministry of Education of Spanish hosts many pages on a diverse array of topics.  One such page is La Vie En Rose as sang by Edith Piaf.  On there you will find an audio recording, and an fill-in the blank exercise for the lyrics.

TF1 is a French language channel.  It is great if you want full immersion.  Video content may not be available in the US.

BBC French

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has various resources to improve your French skills.  Videos that load through the BBC iPlayer may not be available to use outside of the UK.  Until a pay service is offered, you will have to find another way.  Some options to research:  purchasing access to a virtual private network located in the UK; proxy servers within the UK that will provide video access; TOR (The Onion Router – most difficult).

China: Its Language and Culture

China: Its Language and Culture will be offered in the summer of 2011. It allows students to experience China, the second largest economy in the world. Through a short term study in Shanghai, a renowned international metropolis, students will participate in a summer program at the International School of Tongji University. The university experience will offer Chinese language classes, insight into Chinese culture; modern, traditional, urban, suburbs and rural life. Students will explore the blossoming artistic and cultural scenes in Shanghai and many other Chinese cities.

El País is an online version of a daily newspaper that covers a very broad range of issues. It is a great resource for anybody studying media, international politics, Spanish culture, or contemporary Spanish language.
