Environmental firm seeking candidate to fill position as a Seasonal Field
Technician for the Range and Training Lands Assessment (RTLA) program on
Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Job responsibilities include
accurately assessing and recording scientific data, conducting data entry
and QA/QC, working with Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint, Excel and
Access, being able to use GPS to collect data and navigate, and operating
and maintaining a 4×4 vehicle. Desirable qualifications include a
four-year college degree and experience conducting environmental
monitoring.
Must be able to proficiently identify plant species, especially with
grasses and prairie associated species. Familiarity with butterfly
species and noxious weeds is desired. Required to participate in research
and prepare a 10-minute presentation of assessments, and assist with seed
collection, greenhouse facility work, and planting native plant plugs.
Duties require fieldwork in varying weather conditions, varying work
schedules, long hours, extreme temperatures, lifting up to 50 pounds, and
kneeling and walking for long hours. Must hold a valid driver?s license
