South Puget Sound Cruise: History & Microplastics

South Sound Estuary Association (SSEA)  “Cruising for the Sound” is a three hour educational exploration of the South Puget Sound on board the luxury yacht, MY GIRL.

While on the cruise learn the history of South Sound geographical features encountered, including some surprising American Civil War connections. The programming is presented by Les Eldridge, local author and maritime history expert. In addition, University of Washington researcher, Julie Masura, will demonstrate methods to collect and process ocean samples to quantify the amount of microplastics in the ocean environment.
