Two ¾-time positions are open.
The Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute (CGEI) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit based in Hood River, OR dedicated to environmental, place-based education in the Columbia River Gorge. Through a series of programs, we aim to instill a “sense of place” into students through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, instructive games, and performing meaningful scientific research.
Job duties (partial list):
Your responsibilities will be varied and changing with seasonal programmatic demands. A sample of duties includes:
* Teaching ecology-based lessons for fifth graders (the SECRETS program).
* Volunteer recruitment and management.
* Assist with conservation biology projects for middle school students.
* Tabling at various events around the Gorge…
* Providing assistance to our various partners as needed…
* Creating materials and curriculum as needed as part of our constant effort to improve our programs.
* Be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
