Madras (population 6,211) is located in Central Oregon, 45 minutes north of Bend and 2 hours from Portland. A full service community, Madras has a robust retail and industrial economy. The City also has an Urban Renewal District.

Salary is open based on qualifications. Mid-range salary is $80,000 per year with fully paid PERS.

Manage 12 full time staff, and 6 seasonal hires in the following Public Works departments: wastewater, water, streets, airport, parks, trails and golf course.

The City of Madras is looking for a motivated, talented and knowledgeable director with a passion for public service and improving a community’s livability. The position reports directly to the City Administrator and is part of the management team consisting of Community Development, Finance and the Police Department.
