Location: Usk, WA – about 50 miles north of Spokane, WA

Job Description: In the Kalispel Tribes’ Terrestrial Division, this individual would serve as a mid-level biologist under general supervision.  From the Usk Natural Resources Office, this employee will work independently in conducting professional biological studies and/or research and provides analysis and assessment of forestry, wildlife, or habitat management data. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of forestry and wildlife related projects in Pend Oreille County and north Idaho.  Forestry work will include specific work in the Washington State’s Timber, Fish and Wildlife Program (TFW) and its Forest and Fish Program (FFR) to monitor timber harvest activities on private and state lands important to the Tribe.  Given the National Forest system is the primary land base surrounding the Kalispel Tribe, the Forestry/Wildlife Ecologist will be involved in wildlife and habitat related work on these lands.  Wildlife work will include data collection and research specific to grizzly bear, caribou, wolf, fisher, lynx, and other fur bearing and game species as well as non-game wildlife species.  Amphibian and gastropod related research will be included in this work as well.
