The Baldwin Group, Inc. (TBG) (www.tbgroupconsultants.com) seeks a talented individual to support our contract with the NOAA Coastal Services Center in Charleston, SC. The Coastal Services Center’s mission is to support the environmental, social, and economic well-being of the coast by linking people, information, and technology. The Center (http://www.csc.noaa.gov) works with various branches of NOAA and other federal agencies to bring information, services, and technology to the nation’s coastal resource managers.

 

Duties:

The Center’s projects have a strong customer focus and are driven by the input and feedback of the coastal resource management community. The successful candidate will be able to work in both individual and team environments, demonstrate skill in working with economic information and have a strong interest in assisting with the application and communication of the importance of this data to the coastal resource management community.

 

Responsibilities include:

● Compilation of existing data describing economic activities that depend on oceans and Great Lakes

● Work with project team in application of economic information to coastal management issues

● Support project team in the development of products, training resources and applications that assist in communicating economic concepts to a management audience

● Communicate with project team and CSC’s external audience which includes the resource management community

 

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of twenty-four hours of social science with a focus on economics

● Strong quantitative skills; Geographic Information Systems (GIS) skills a plus

● Knowledge of basic economic concepts

● The position requires both team and independent work and initiative

● Working knowledge in an environmental or social science field, particularly marine science or coastal management is helpful, but not mandatory.

● The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and knowledge of NOAA and its partners and stakeholders or at least a demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly in a new area.
