Pacific Science Center seeks a Program Coordinator to work with the Portal to the Public Program. The Program Coordinator helps to fulfill Pacific Science Center’s initiative to develop and disseminate innovative platforms that connect the public to current science being done in our community. The Portal to the Public Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating event logistics and operations, providing administrative support to the department, and working with internal and external partners to successfully execute events and programs. This position will coordinate and plan for a variety of meetings, workshops and public programs that contribute to connecting public audiences with local scientists or current research and technology.

The position requires a high level of communication and multi-tasking skills and detailed organization, as it will work on multiple concurrent projects with tight timelines. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree and have experience coordinating operations and logistics, planning events and working with Microsoft Office suite as well as a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate will have experience in public speaking, group facilitation, adult education or teaching as well as excellent time management and creative problem solving skills. A high level of energy and enthusiasm as well as a positive and professional attitude are a must!
