ITAM Coordinator

Job Description

Engineering and Environment, Inc is seeking a candidate to fill an ITAM Coordinator position at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA.  The Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program is the Army’s comprehensive approach to land management.  ITAM is based on the integration of military mission, natural resource stewardship, and environmental compliance.

The ITAM Program Coordinator is responsible for providing technical expertise and analysis to manage program activities to include organizing all components of ITAM to accomplish program objectives for Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

•             Sustainable management of training lands and natural resources.

•             Manage all five components of the ITAM program (Training Requirements Integration, Range and Training Land Assessment, Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance, Sustainable Range Awareness, and Geographic Information System).

•             Assist in the preparation of scope of work (SOW) for JBLM ITAM contracts.

•             Provide information for command decision support to include preparing and presenting briefings, conducting meetings, and preparing documents supporting land management decisions.

•             Prepare and manage accurate and detailed documentation on JBLM ITAM activities as well as Public Works Environmental Division activities.

•             Ensure ITAM objectives are included in the Range Control Master Plan (RCMP), Range Development Plan (RDP), ITAM Plan, Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP), and Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP).

•             Prepare the ITAM Plan and workplan with activities to be completed in current and future years.  Plans include activity descriptions, locations, methods, review process, hours to complete the activities and equipment to be used.

•             Work with Trimble GPS equipment, ArcGIS and ArcPad.

•             Ensure training mission requirements are included in land management decision processes.

•             Participate in intra-agency conferences.

•             Discuss technical issues and applications.

 

The ideal candidate will have the knowledge or ability and willingness to learn about training land management, natural resource management, military readiness, and military culture.

A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in natural resource management, applied science, military science, and/or program management with 5 years related experience and/or training.  Experience with program/project management, endangered species policies, military procedures, Geographical Information System (GIS) programs, database development and management, and ecological modeling is preferred.

Candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills.  Must hold a valid driver’s license.  Must be capable of obtaining a security clearance.
