Great fun! Join us this Saturday…the weather forecast is predicting great weather for Saturday night!
Bring your family and join Foss Waterway Seaport and Metro Parks Tacoma for a “Pier Peer” aquatic nighttime adventure. Explore the hundreds of mysterious marine life forms — including some pretty “alien” looking creatures drawn to underwater lights placed off our docks.
Dockside touch tanks – see and touch creatures brought up from the deep by local divers. Enjoy a “live dive” where participants can talk to our diver while he is diving. View plankton under a microscope. AND…due to Seaport construction this Pier Peer in Tacoma will be held on our Science on the Sea education program boat, My Girl, moored at our dock.
Please dress for the weather: The docks can be wet. Please bring your own flashlights; we will provide life jackets as well as scoops to catch sea creatures.
All participants must wear a life jacket! We encourage you to bring your own life jacket if you own one.
Cookies and hot drinks will be provided on the boat!
COST: $8 per person. Each child, 8 years of age or older, requires one adult companion.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION: Online. 30 person maximum per program.
