How Shall We Live in Light of Climate Chaos?
Friday February 28th, at 7:00 PM
Traditions Cafe, 300 5th Ave SW, Olympia
FREE
Author and biologist Guy McPherson will be speaking about climate change on Friday, February 28th, at seven o’clock, at Traditions Cafe in downtown Olympia. Admission is free.
McPherson walked away from a career as a tenured professor at the University of Arizona to travel and talk to people about the ecological and climate chaos we are experiencing.
Professor McPherson will discuss climate change projections as shown by current scientific research, and the dire impacts climate chaos will have on food production and all biological life. Guy foresees energy decline, the collapse of industrial economies and food distribution systems, and nuclear power meltdowns. He expects compromised social order, and further pressure on our freedoms. It’s not all bad news, and Guy will discuss how individuals can work together to strengthen community resilience, and prepare for a changing world.
Guy McPherson is author of Going Dark and Walking Away From Empire.
McPherson was a tenured professor in the Department of Natural Resources, University of Arizona, focused on “Conservation of Biological Diversity”. Besides writing and speaking, he lives off the grid, raising goats, and growing vegetables and community in New Mexico.
