Climate Change Online Education Project Assistant

 

The National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE)

 

NCSE is seeking a project assistant to work on a variety of grant-funded climate change education projects that utilize the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation E-Learning (CAMEL) website www.CAMELclimatechange.org

 

Position duties but are not limited to:

 

  • Maintain CAMEL website, including interface with Content Management System development team, to ensure functionality and appearance of site
  • Keep site content current, with emphasis on materials and subjects supported by funded projects. Present emphasis includes agriculture, indigenous people, interface between climate and energy
  • Arrange for communications (conference calls, webinars etc.) among project partners and collaborators
  • Marketing and promotion of CAMEL, including using social media, especially to target audiences
  • Provide information needed for reports to funders and potential funders
  • Other related duties as designed by project leader and project team
  • Other responsibilities as staff of the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE)

 

Position Requirements are:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent web and computer skills are essential
  • Knowledge of climate change science and issues is desirable
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and on deadline
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of related projects and with a team that is not co-located.

 

Supervisor: Dr. David Blockstein, NCSE CAMEL Principal Investigator, assisted by other project team members.

 

Terms of position – Full-time with limited duration contingent upon availability of funds – funds are committed through July 2014; likely through November 2014.

 

Salary: $38,000 per year

 

Start: April or May 2014
