Join the Gateways Team to support Academic Mentoring and
College Access with incarcerated youth.
MEMBERS NEEDED TO:
 Offer educational and career mentor support
 Refer participating youth to high school dropout re-engagement and college readiness opportunities.
 Increase workplace readiness and life skills development for incarcerated students
 Support access to higher education on-site at JJRA facility Green Hill School.
 Maintain and develop school partnerships with JJRA institutions through Gateways Expansion.
 Recruit Evergreen college students as College Access Coaches and Mentors.
 Support youth participants in Evergreen’s Gateways College class.
 Create activities for college access programming using best practices.
 Organize fundraising efforts for youth college tuition with college student participants

Applicants must:
Have Experience with incarcerated youth and youth development.
Willing to commit for 10 months and serve in AmeriCorps as a service role
Able to pass criminal background check
Passionate about social justice
BA/BS Preferred
Drivers license required
Men of Color strongly encouraged to apply

BENEFITS: Living Stipend of $12,100 (distributed over 10.5 months), Loan Forbearance and Interest
Accrual Reimbursement on qualifying loans, Basic Health Care Plan, Education Award of $5,645 upon
successful completion of the program, Childcare assistance for qualifying members
