About NCSE: NCSE is a not-for-profit organization that improves the scientific basis for environmental decision-making. NCSE brings together individuals, institutions and communities to advance environmental and sustainability science, education, and their applications in five strategic areas:
 Strengthening education and careers;
 Communicating science to the public;
 Hosting the annual National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment;
 Science solutions to specific environmental challenges; and
 Advancing policy that improves the connection between science and decision-making.
About CEER: CEER conducts ongoing research to advance understanding of the rapidly evolving fields of interdisciplinary environmental, sustainability, and energy education. Research reports are targeted to higher education administrators, educators, policy makers and students and are provided as benefits for members of NCSE’s Affiliate Programs.
About the position: The CEER Program Assistant will support all activities of the Center for Environmental Education Research, which includes developing national and international research reports and performing academic consulting services.
The CEER Program Assistant’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
 Assist with production and delivery of research and consulting reports, funding proposals, scientific publications, and meeting/conference presentations. Includes writing and creation of visuals such as tables, graphs, and maps.
 Support CEER surveys and research. Includes data coding and screening, statistical analyses, and literature review.
 Organize and maintain CEER databases, bibliographic database, and other files and materials.
 Support communications and marketing efforts for CEER.
 Support other NCSE staff and programs as needed.
Desired qualifications and skills:
 Bachelor’s degree in natural or social science field; preferably environmental studies, science or sustainability.
 Developed research skills, planning and organizing skills, analytic problem-solving skills, and creativity.
 Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
 Proficiency in statistics software (SPSS experience preferred).
 Basic knowledge of social science statistical analysis methods.
 Strict attention to detail and thoroughness.
 Ability to effectively train and supervise interns (management, teamwork, and employee development skills).
