Project Manager in the field of Environmental Change, Security and Development (m/f)

Focus and Scope

You will work on the interface between environmental change and the potential for conflict and cooperation. You will share responsibility for building a database on environmental conflicts around the world as well as solutions and lessons learned to prevent, solve, manage or transform these conflicts. Moreover, you will support adelphi in several other projects in the area of development and security.

Tasks

    • Contribute conceptually to the development of a database on conflict and cooperation related to environmental change
    • Contribute to collecting and cross-checking the necessary data, including in a coordinating capacity
    • Contribute to other ongoing projects at adelphi in the areas of climate diplomacy, resource governance, and peacebuilding and foreign and security policy
  • Contribute to project acquisition in the area of development and security as well as resources and governance

Qualifications

    • An advanced university degree in the social sciences, preferably with a specialization on peace and conflict studies
    • At least two years of relevant work experience
    • Experience with and/or affinity to database work, preferably in the area of peace and conflict studies and ideally at the interface between environmental change and conflict (resolution)
    • Excellent communication skills, in particular excellent writing in English, and preferably a good grasp of German
  • Work experience in developing countries a plus
