Are you interested in advocacy and public policy? Do you want to gain experience in these fields while promoting the economic and social advancement of women? Join the YWCA of Olympia!
The YWCA of Olympia is seeking an intern to help with the coordination our 2014/15 advocacy activities. Working with the Board of Directors, YWCA staff and an advocacy committee, the Advocacy Intern will help plan and execute activities in support of the YWCA of Olympia’s advocacy agenda. The advocacy agenda will focus on legislation and policies that advance the economic and social status of women, promote gender and racial equality and support women’s economic empowerment. The specific advocacy activities are to be determined and could include a letter writing campaign, social media campaign, a phone bank, organizing town hall style informational meetings, organizing agency clients and other community members to testify before a committee, and coordinating casual and fun events to inform the public and encourage participation. YWCA Internship Description: Development Intern
Are you interested in gaining fundraising skills including grant writing, coordinating letter campaigns and supporting special events? Are you interested in promoting the economic and social advancement of women? Join the YWCA of Olympia!
The YWCA of Olympia is seeking an intern to support our 2014/15 fundraising activities. Working with the Executive Director and the Communications & Special Events Director, the Development Intern will engage in activities that support our special events and direct mailing campaigns. This could include research, developing outreach materials, learning and utilizing a donor database, and coordinating donor stewardship activities. In addition, the Development Intern will have the opportunity to write several grant applications to support YWCA programs for women and girls.
