Prepare and teach instructional, innovative lessons in outdoor and environmental education

Lead and facilitate exciting recreational and teambuilding opportunities for students

Support camp operations and facility logistics, building your own repertoire of marketable skills

Qualifications

  • Ability to work and live comfortably as a part of a small, on-site community and work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to work full days and evenings in an environment that can at times be both emotionally and physically demanding
  • Ability and desire to teach, inspire and engage people of all abilities
  • Ability and willingness to learn and master designated program areas
  • Flexibility with regard to tasks, work hours, changes in program or plans, etc.

Knowledge/Skills desired

  • Degree or some college education in Natural Resources, Education, Recreation, or related field
  • Experience working in a camp or educational setting
  • Enthusiasm for learning and teaching about the natural world
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification; current Washington Food Handler’s Permit
    (can be obtained after hire)

Stipend/Benefits

  • $250.00 per week begins after initial training week
  • Exciting week of training that instruction in a variety of curriculum subjects & activity areas
  • Shared housing and partial board (meals provided during program offerings only)
  • Living on 400 acre, lush outdoor property with 1 ½ mile of waterfront
  • Ability to work as credit towards recreation, outdoor leadership, and education internships

Position Details

EE/Retreat Program specialists are required to attend the entire training program with no exception. The stipend will be $125/ for the first week and $250/week for 8 weeks. Shared housing is provided for the duration of employment, but private housing is unavailable for this position. Meals are providedduring training and program.Opportunity for continued employment through the summer season may be possible for the right candidates
