Paid internship opportunity of up to six months; up to 15 hours per week

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity to intern with our Western States Affiliate Quality and Systems Improvement team committed to expanding the reach and effective utilization of Get With The Guidelines®, our suite of quality programs that puts up-to-date treatment guidelines, tools and resources to work in hospitals and practices across the nation.

This internship provides a focused opportunity to gain practical experience in creating GIS maps for each state in our ten-state affiliate.

Required Experience

Qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated interest in advancing public health through coursework and related experience
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and informatics
  • Ability and desire to demonstrate initiative in completing projects
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Publisher
