The Tillamook Forest Center (TFC) is a visitor center located on the Wilson River on Highway 6 in the Oregon Coast Range, about an hour’s drive west of downtown Portland and 30 minutes east of Tillamook.

The Lead Interpretation & Education Specialist develops, implements and evaluates forest interpretation and education programs and events for a wide range of audiences. The position will lead programs in the forest and/or in off-site locations and will develop specific elements of programs and interpretation/education tools, including signs and brochures.

During program sessions and interactions with the public, this position is responsible for ensuring a safe, quality experience for participants and visitors, coordinating any necessary program logistics, and assessing overall effectiveness of activities. This position is also responsible for marketing assigned programs, assisting in the development of training materials and providing mentoring to two interns.
