Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Brian Arbogast leads the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s effort to bring groundbreaking innovations in sanitation technology and new ways to deliver sanitation products and services to people in the developing world.

The foundation recently unveiled a low-cost treatment plant that it funded to provide clean water and sanitation in developing countries. Using a blend of steam power and water filtration, this plant can convert up to 14 tons of sewage into potable water and electricity each day.

Arbogast was previously a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Corporation, leading an international portfolio of R&D projects. More recently, he concentrated in cleantech and international development, driving market solutions to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Closing Plenary Session – Ready for Action!

After four days of learning about the latest innovations, discussing challenges, and making new contacts, the Symposium will close with an exciting workshop designed to give attendees a framework to put the new information into action. How can we as leaders garner support for resilient water supplies in our communities?

Do not miss this interactive and inspirational closing plenary featuring Paul Bowen (The Coca-Cola Company), Mayor Jim Hemberry (City of Quincy, WA), and Melissa Marshall (Marshall Consulting LLC) who is known for her Ted Talk on presenting complex scientific ideas to a general audience.
