Communications Coordinator

Reporting Relationship: Executive Director
Position Terms: Hourly, half-time position (20-25 hours/week)
Supervisory responsibilities: None

Overview: The Communications Coordinator is responsible for management of our online brand, websites (owhf.org, conserveoregon.org), social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instragram, Google+, and YouTube). This position also manages our email lists, develops and publishes our monthly e-newsletter, the hard copy version of our year-end newsletter, and our auction catalog. This position will work in coordination with the Development & Marketing Coordinator on other projects as assigned by the Executive Director to attract monetary and other support to Oregon Wildlife.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

-Develop and publish our:
o monthly e-newsletter
o year-end hard copy newsletter
o auction catalog.
o LGL forms to support our fundraising initiatives and ticket sales for Oregon Wildlife events.
-Develop and manage our websites and social media outlets.
-Broaden our social networking relationships to benefit Oregon Wildlife.
-Actively participate in and staff committees as necessary and appropriate.
-Assist the Executive Director in other fundraising programs as necessary.

Requirements/Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. -Prefer 2-4 years experience in a paid marketing and/or website management position.
-Evidence of successful website, business development, and/or relationship programs is required.
-Graduation from a 4-year college or university required although a 2-year degree with a minimum 5 -years related work experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization, may substitute.
-Knowledge of and experience with Wix, MailChimp, LucidPress, and Little Green Light is a plus.
-Communication, marketing and/or public relations experience required.
-Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
-Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
-Ability to write a business letter, article, and a press release.
-Ability to define problems, gather information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
-Position requires demonstrated applied skills in word processing, website maintenance and other computer software, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and the ability to learn fund raising, web design, and management computer software programs.
-Ability to work without direct supervision in a small office environment is required.
-Ability to hold a valid Oregon Driver’s License and to possess a car that can be used for work purposes.
-The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Salary:
