Department of Health hosts State Climatologist Lecture on October 5
The Department of Health’s Climate Change Workgroup presents “Warming in the Northeast Pacific or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Blob” on Monday, Oct. 5, noon-1:00 in Point Plaza East Room 152-153.
Nick Bond, State Climatologist at the Office of the Washington State Climatologist, will discuss recent oceanic and atmospheric conditions in the Pacific Northwest, the extent to which they preview future climate scenarios, and how this relates to summer weather and water quality and availability. Nick is a principal research scientist with the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO) of the University of Washington (UW) and also holds an appointment as an affiliate associate professor with the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the UW.
