The Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) is looking to hire a Site Manager (Environmental Specialist 4). This position will work out of our Headquarters Building in Lacey, WA.
The Site Manager position provides regulatory oversight to ensure that cleanup actions comply with the mission of the Department, Program, the MTCA and other applicable environmental laws, regulations and policies. This position will independently perform professional senior-level work under general supervision for cleanup of VCP and formal sites located within the state.

The Site Manager independently performs professional senior-level work under general supervision and is responsible for the following key activities:
VCP Site Manager:
Manages the remediation of contaminated sites:

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in environmental, physical, or one of the natural sciences, environmental planning, or other allied field AND five years of professional-level experience in environmental analysis, or control, or environmental planning which includes one year equal to an Environmental Specialist 3 or above.
OR
A Master’s degree in one of the above fields AND three years of professional-level experience as required above which includes one year equal to an Environmental Specialist 3 or above.
OR
A Ph.D. in one of the above fields AND two years of professional-level experience as required above which includes one year equal to an Environmental Specialist 3 or above.
Desired Qualifications: TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: Is able to use data and information in a clear, rational, and thorough process to assess and understand issues, evaluate options, form accurate conclusions, and make decisions which are in compliance with the MTCA.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Accepts full responsibility for all aspects of assigned projects, remaining in touch with site status and progress. Effectively directs and integrates all aspects of site work, ensuring that work progresses – achieving goals and objectives.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Is able to create, edit, modify, save, and delete documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point; includes locating and modifying existing boilerplates for use at specific sites.
Special Requirements / Conditions of Employment: Valid Driver’s License, initial 40-hour hazardous materials training, and annual 8-hr refresher training per year.
