VISTA Training Coordinator

The Baldwin Group, Inc. (TBG) is seeking a well-spoken, confident candidate to serve as a training coordinator for members of the Resilience AmeriCorps pilot program, beginning in January 2016. Resilience AmeriCorps is being piloted as a response to the President’s 2013 Climate Action Plan.

Volunteers in Service to America (VISTAs) will be placed in projects selected in ten cities to increase civic engagement and community resilience in low-income areas and help local leaders as they plan for and address the impact of extreme weather events. The training coordinator will work closely with VISTA members in collaboration with NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management and NOAA’s Climate Program Office, as well as with other AmeriCorps partners that have existing training resources to support VISTA project goals in each city.
Duties
• Attend the January VISTA orientation, to include a resilience boot camp and training resource fair
• Work with VISTA members to understand the training and resource needs unique to each member and assigned community
• Monitor and track the progress of VISTA members toward training requirements
• Establish and implement evaluation and reporting protocols for training programs of VISTA members
• Make recommendations for a long-term program based on the experiences of the pilot Some travel required (monthly to every other month) to coastal locations throughout the U.S. This opportunity can be either full- or part-time employment.
